Bulletin Notices 4/5 september 2010.
Welcome: it is good to have you back! If you were away, I hope you had a good time and come back rested. If you were not away, I hope that you enjoyed a ‘quieter’ Paris. I am delighted to have met some new parishioners, including families, who are joining us. As we say goodbye to some we welcome others. During the summer months great support and help from many people supported the celebration of liturgies and other activities, including counting the collection!
Parish Information Weekend 11 th/12 th September (next weekend): at all five weekend Masses, representatives of various ministries and services will be available to meet anyone who wishes to know more about these and perhaps volunteer. On the website www.stjoeparis.org you will find more information. If you feel called to come forward as a volunteer you may wish to send your name to the person who co-ordinates that ministry or activity. If you are not sure to whom to send your message, please send it to info@stjoeparis.org giving a brief description of how you feel you could serve the community best and it will be forwarded to the appropriate person. If like St Joseph, you are a carpenter you are needed! If you will not be here next weekend, please send a message with your name, contact details and the areas that interests you to info@stjoeparis.org
CCD Registration is important. Contact Michael and Elizabeth at ccd@stjoeparis.org so that they can complete the lists by next weekend. Their achievement each year in organising classes along with volunteer teachers, assistants and other helpers is remarkable. More help is always needed.
Marriage Preparation Course: begins on Tuesday, 12 th October in St Joseph’s at 8 p.m. and continues on 26 October, 2,9,16 & 23 November. Please contact Fr Francis: wffinnigan@gmail.com
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) commences on Thursday, 21 st October at 8 p.m. in St Joseph’s and continues until the Easter Vigil 2011 to prepare adults for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. An adult already baptised wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, can prepare by joining RCIA. To register for RCIA contact Aidan ajdtroy@gmail.com
Sacrament of Baptism of babies and young children takes place regularly at St Joseph’s. There has been a significant increase in the number of Baptisms being celebrated. To arrange a baptism go to www.stjoeparis.org and submit the details of the one to be baptised. Prior to the Baptism a short course of preparation is recommended so that there can be a better appreciation of the significance of the Sacrament when it is celebrated. If any parent or couple could assist with Baptismal preparation course for parents and sponsors, it would be a real enrichment of the sacramental life of our community. To volunteer for this ministry of preparation contact ajdtroy@gmail.com
Pastoral Council Meeting takes place tomorrow night at 8 p.m. This voluntary group is of great assistance in co-ordinating and animating the activities of St Joseph’s. In the coming months the membership of the Council will be reviewed and new members sought. If you wish to know more about this activity, please approach a member of the Pastoral Council after weekend Mass.
Bible Study resumes on Wed. 15 September and Sunday session on 19 September.
