Bulletin Notices: 7 March 2010, Third Sunday of Lent.

Celebration of St Patrick’s Day , Wednesday, 17 March, begins with Mass at 8.30 a.m. At 12 noon there will be Mass followed by a reception in the Hall. (You may wish to bring something for the party!). This invitation is for people of all nationalities to join in honouring the Patron Saint of Ireland.

Celebration of Feast of St Joseph , 19 March : Mass at 8.30 a.m. and at 7.30 p.m. there will be Mass followed by Stations of the Cross. All are invited to join in celebrating our Church’s Patron Saint.  

Garden at St Joseph’s Church is a real treasure but is need of some attention to bring it back to its best. Anyone who knows about gardens and anyone who could help dig and tidy it will be most welcome. Volunteers will be needed to help with the grass, plants, shrubs, garden ornaments, etc.  

Vestments for St Joseph’s : a set of white vestments has been purchased due to a generous donation. Others have pledged donations and it is hoped to purchase another set soon. Thanks.  

Parish Lenten Retreat (Reflection) Day begins on Saturday, 13 March, morning at 10 a.m. As well as some reflections being given, there will be Mass at 11 a.m. and a communal Penance Service. Please bring something to eat at lunch time. The day will end shortly after 2 p.m. All most welcome!  

Lenten Project 2010 to support the people of Mandeville Diocese continues this weekend. The collection so far amounts to €3.344,77. Display of project on view.  

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) candidates will be welcomed liturgically to community of St Joseph’s at 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday next, 14 March. Six Catechumens from St Joseph’s answered the ‘Appel Decisif’ at Notre Dame on 20 February to Cardinal Vingt-Trois. Eight RCIA candidates for Confirmation will be enrolled during 11 a.m. Mass next Sunday. All fourteen will receive Sacraments during the Easter Vigil. Next RCIA course begins at 8 p .m. on 21 Oct 2010. Please let others know.

Pastoral Council Retreat on Saturday, 20 March. From www.stjoeparis.org you can make contact with members of this council. There will be 11 a.m. Mass on that day due to season of Lent.  

Marriage Course continues on Tuesday 9 March at 8pm and will last until the 16 March 2010.  

Lenten Prayer Group meets on Friday nights at 6.30 p.m. to reflect on Sunday Scriptures. All are welcome to come along. For further information – marian.peiris@yahoo.fr / c.fitzsimons@orange.fr 

Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers : Next meeting is Tuesday, March 23 at 8 PM. 

Bible Study : The Sunday group will be back on 14 March. The Wednesday group will be back on 10 March  

PARISH BAPTISMS at St Joseph’s are usually celebrated on third Sunday each month at 1.30 p.m. (July/August at 1 p.m.). Requests for baptism can be sent from parish website www.stjoeparis.org Preparation will be arranged by one of the priests. Those who are not parishioners of St Joseph’s are asked to make an appointment to request a baptism – info@stjoeparis.org or 01.42272856

Church collection: New 2010 leaflets in English. White envelopes available with the form to be filled in case you choose the standing order or if you are a new cheque donor. Don’t forget to indicate your current address so the diocese sends you the receipt. These can be used for the Lenten project as well.
