NOTICES for 4th May, 2008
All ministries: On Tuesday, 13 th May, at 8.00 pm, we would like to have a thanksgiving celebration for all those who have so generously involved themselves in our various ministries – CCD. Eucharistic Ministers, Readers, Ushers, Hospitality, Music, etc. etc. - during this past year. The celebration will take the form of a Mass followed by some light refreshments in the Hall. Contributions of finger food, etc will be appreciated.
SPECIAL MASS FOR THOSE LEAVING THE PARISH THIS SUMMER: We would like to organise this for Sunday, 8 th June, at the 12:30 Mass. It’s just our way of thanking God for enriching our parish with such special people, and to pray that He will continue to accompany them on the next stage of their journey through life. Our Mass will be followed by a little celebration in the Hall. We also think it might be a nice idea if people who know they are leaving might forward to a member of the Parish Council or one of the priests a family photograph, and maybe a word on where they’re off to, and anything else they might like to share. We could perhaps have a display in the Parvis – but we don’t want no ‘wailing wall’!
Bible study : The Wednesday Bible study group will not meet this week. We'll be back on the 14th May at the usual time of 10:30 to 12:00. The Sunday Bible study group will meet as usual this Sunday, May 4, from 11 to 12. We will also meet next Sunday, the 11th May. Each session is stand alone so all are welcome. No experience necessary. For more information contact Lori at 01.46.36.15.02 or lori_maguire2000@yahoo.fr
Summer Fair Tombola Tickets: How can you resist? An iPod player, complete with a docking station that converts it into a virtual music centre – lunch for two in one of Paris’s finest exclusive restaurants – a family day out to Eurodisney – a musical digital photo-frame – a voucher to splurge in the Body Shop – the list of prizes in our Tombola goes on and on….. Tickets are on sale in the Parvis after all the Masses this week-end, and between now and the Summer Fair. Don’t leave it too late – or all the winning tickets might be sold. “Too late, too late, will be the cry, when those with the prizes pass you by”!!!
Summer Fair: Plans are far advanced for our Summer Fair – but we need your help! We ask you to sacrifice just one of your week-ends and hang around to participate in, and be a volunteer helper, for our annual Summer Fair. It is our annual attempt to make up for the huge drop in income that’s entailed by so many of our usual parishioners being away for the two months of the summer. This year the Summer Fair takes place on May 31 st. A successful Fair requires a large number of volunteers, and all positions will only require a few hours of your time. It is a great way to get involved with the Parish Community, have fun and to help St Joe’s. This year, we’ll be having a bouncy castle and a fancy dress competition for ages 2 to 6 and 6 to...? contact Vera on 01 45 01 53 29 or vmj2002@hotmail.com It’s never too early to start sorting your books, unwanted bric à brac and toys (in good clean condition please), we need lots of full bottles for our bottle stall, but please do not bring videos, cassettes, clothes, or shoes as we have no way of disposing of such items… For more information, you may also contact info@stjoeparis.org
